New Tradition

I think we've got a new tradition at Sbisa. Tonight we served 896
students late night breakfast tonight and this morning. That tops the
last two nights when we had over 700 We'll do it again Tuesday night
from 10pm to 2am to help you rock those finals!

Breakfast tonight?

Sbisa is open again this evening from 10pm to 2am for studying and late-night breakfast. Come check it out and if you were there on Thursday night we’re opening the market area so the lines won’t be long. We’ll still have made-to-order omelets but we’ll have the buffet open to increase the speed of service. I’ll be behind the line cooking and I hope to see you there. Should be fun.

Breakfast till 2am at Sbisa

Just in case you’re up studying late – I’m headed to Sbisa to start making breakfast from 10pm until 2am. Chocolate chip, blueberry, banana and buttermilk pancakes will be available as well as made to order omelets – and all the coffee you can drink. We’ll do it again on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night next week.

This week we’re featuring student-grown, organic lettuce mix on the salad bar at Sbisa. This lettuce was grown on west campus by The Holistic Garden's: Student Sustainable Farm. Look forward to tomatoes, chard, more lettuce, fresh herbs, peppers, okra and melons as the summer progresses. I took the picture yesterday right before Brady Grimes (student farmer) harvested and it’s on the salad bar today. Gotta love it!

I’ll make regular updates as fresh new items arrive in the coming weeks. Hurry in while supplies last.

Southern Style at Sbisa tomorrow

Tomorrow (2/25) for lunch and dinner we’re featuring Southern Style Home Cooking for both lunch and dinner Sbisa. From home-made biscuits to shrimp & grits (and lots in between – fried perch, short-ribs, cracklin’ cornbread, greens, red beans & rice, etc, etc…), we’ll be showcasing slow cooked, southern home-cooking. Regional influences include Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina and Georgia. Menu varies from lunch to dinner so come for both and get your fill of southern comfort.

Dining on campus tonight and tomorrow

For tonight (2/23) - Sbisa, Duncan and the Commons will be open for dinner. However, the Commons will close at 9pm tonight instead of midnight due to the weather.

Tomorrow morning (2/24), Duncan will be closed for breakfast, but Sbisa and the Commons will both be open at 7am. All other retail locations around campus will be closed until 10am when the University officially re-opens.

Join us tonight for dinner as we fight off the cold with some good home cooking! I’ll be serving at Sbisa.

Now Serving Blue Bell at Common Grounds

The freezer is in and we’re now serving six different, hand-dipped flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream at Common Grounds in Studio 12 in the Commons. The flavors rotate, but I served Crazy Colors as well as Cookies & Cream last night along with some others.

Grand Opening for Azimuth

We had our grand re-opening for Azimuth since we remodeled and added our SimplyFresh line of fresh grab-n-go products towards the end of last semester. Check it out! It's a cool little spot with good coffee and now lots of food. It's in the lower level of Langford (architecture).

We’re off and rolling! Lots of smiling faces, which we love to see. Our tortilla warmer arrived today so expect even better burritos than yesterday. If you don’t want the tortilla we will make you a rice bowl with all the good toppings.

More good eats at Sbisa! Sbisa’s new Burrito Bar will open tomorrow in The Market area. The Burrito Bar will feature grilled meats and many more freshly cooked ingredients such as cilantro rice, black beans, freshly made salsas and chipotle-Ranch dressing. We’ll be grilling right in front of you and building burritos to your liking on your choice of flour, whole-wheat or tomato tortillas. It’s fresh, healthy and made to order. Hot Sandwiches at Duncan

In case you weren’t aware, at the beginning of the semester Dining Services opened one side of Duncan Dining Center as a retail deli (we still have all-you-care-to-eat on the other side) and we’ve recently added some delicious new hot sandwiches. In addition to the full line of cold sandwiches, we now also offer grilled chicken on foccacia, Philly cheese-steak, BBQ brisket and Sausage on a bun. Enjoy!

Pasta Bar at Sbisa Now Open!

The much anticipated Pasta Bar at Sbisa is now open and finished its first day strong. I had a lot of fun cooking alongside James as we cranked out one custom pasta bowl after another. We served over 200 bowls of pasta for dinner. We’re working on a nice garlic bread to go along with it. On Friday we’ll have fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp (one of my personal best) as a special, so don’t miss out. Also coming soon – my own Southwestern pasta creation, cilantro pesto with grilled chicken. We’re having fun at Sbisa cooking pasta, so come check us out.

Sbisa Changes

Howdy!

It seems that everywhere we look on campus there is construction or changes taking place; and Dining is no different. This semester, with the help of student feedback and suggestions, we have made some changes and additions to better accommodate our campus community. Some changes this semester at Sbisa include:

Extended and continuous hours: now open Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 9:00 pm and Saturday – Sunday, 8:00 am – 9:00 pm.

Stir-fry and rice and noodle bowls are now being offered in the World Cuisine area. With a variety of selections, if something is not offered on the day you are there just ask - someone can always make it for you fresh in five minutes!

Ags' Diner has an extensive menu of made to order burgers and hot dogs and has new additions being added like veggie and turkey burgers and falafel sandwiches.

Enjoy hand scooped Blue Bell ice cream along with some of your favorite recipes from the MSC Café that are now being served on the menu!

In the next few weeks a Mexican grill concept will open where the cooked-to-order area currently is. They will serve freshly grilled chicken and steak on tacos or in burritos.

Also coming soon - made to order pasta in the Sarginos’ area. This is a great option if you are looking for a custom vegetarian option or a healthier meal choice.
